Regenerative Musculoskeletal Care

Dr. Swift strives to restore the health and function of his patients. Regenerative medicine treatments, including Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and Stem Cell Therapy, support the healing of injured tissues and can help reduce pain in chronic degenerative conditions. PRP and Stem Cells are derived from your own blood or bone marrow respectively. These treatments are processed safely and effectively with minimal discomfort in a medical office setting on the same day of procedure.  These modalities may be used as part of a comprehensive treatment program.  These treatments are investigational, which means they are being researched for human use but, like many alternative medicine treatments, they are not FDA approved. There are no instant fixes with regard to healing, however regenerative treatments are thought to optimize and support the conditions necessary for the body to heal.

Musculoskeletal Ultrasound

Dr. Swift uses musculoskeletal (MSK) ultrasound extensively in his practice. He has performed thousands of diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound procedures over the last fifteen years. This exam room technology provides real-time diagnostic information for many musculoskeletal ailments, and is also used to guide injections with greater accuracy and less discomfort.  Injection guidance and accuracy are crucial for many interventional regenerative treatments.

Dr. Swift received his BA and MA in Kinesiology from the University of Texas at Austin, and his doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. He completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (Physiatry) at the Mayo Clinic, and fellowship in Pain Medicine at the Oregon Health & Science University. In his fellowship, Dr. Swift received advanced training in interventional pain control techniques, such as fluoroscopy-guided injections, spinal cord stimulator neuromodulation, and implanted medication pumps.
